Florida Railroad Museum

Funded as The Florida Gulf Coast Railroad Museum, the museum has aquired and restored rolling stock engines, cars, and a caboose (with cupola !) as well as lots of equipment to operate for the public's enjoyment. The Museum operates on a 13 mile round trip lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes on a line between Parrish and Willow, Florida in Manatee County. Each weekend diesel locomotives pull equipment consisting of open window coaches, covered gondolas, and air conditioned coaches.

The Museum is open and operates train rides year-round every Saturday and Sunday at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, excluding a two week break for Christmas and New Years. Trains operate rain or shine and depart from our station on 83rd Street East in Parrish just behind the old Post Office. Special weekend events are planned throughout the year and may supercede our regular operating schedule.

Throughout the year, the Museum schedule special event weekends that couple exciting themes with a ride on the train. Examples include a train robbery, World War II re-enactment and a trip to the North Pole. Be sure to catch the Murder Mystery dinner train put on February and March. The Museum is a non-profit 501(c)(3).

The Museum is 25 miles north of Sarasota and 35 miles south of Tampa off I-75 at exit 229.
