History
- 1st generation: Pius Lang, born 1824. Educated in Tuttlingen, Germany as a cutler. Founded company in 1852.
- 2nd generation: Sigmund Lang.
- 3rd generation: Pius Lang II.
- 4th generation: Walter Lang. Due to health problems stopped making knives in 1998.
- 5th generation: Gerald Walter Lang. Learned from his father, and started making the Pius Lang knife in 2007.
The first knife was presented at the Paris World Exposition in 1889.
During his work life Walter (4th Gen.) hand crafted about 400 exposition knives, each bearing a serial number on the back of the hoof cleaner.
